Something To Avenge

****SPOILER ALERT! IF YOU ARE ONE OF THE THREE PEOPLE LEFT ON THE PLANET WHO HAVE NOT SEEN THE AVENGERS, READ NO FURTHER!****

So, I’ve seen Marvel’s: The Avengers probably 6 or 7 times now. It’s holding up to repeat watching like crazy, and I still cheer at certain parts. I think that, in all the hoopla, and the fangirling over Loki and Jeremy Renner’s ass, and the shwarma jokes, something very important about the movie has been overlooked: Agent Coulson is a goddamn MARTYR.

His dying words to Nick Fury are, “It’s OKAY, boss. It was never gonna work if they didn’t have something to…” (I think we all know that “…avenge” was the ending to that line). The guy believed in the idea of The Avengers so much that he became the heart of the floundering team, and gladly (presumably, I keep hearing rumors he’ll be back as The Vision) gave his life to give them a rallying point. I maintain that he knew full well he’d head down that road when he first sauntered into Stark Enterprises to debrief Tony Stark in the first Iron Man flick.

So, anyways, I did this as a bit of a warm-up today. Agent Coulson was a bad-ass, and the reason The Avengers got their shit together and saved the world.

Marvel Beginnings 2 Cards: Round One

So, all my Marvel Beginnings cards got approved by Marvel (2 for 2!). That means I get to start sharing them. Consider this batch SHARED! I went a little Marvel Cosmic-crazy this time around.

More Avengers Sketch Cards!

So, here’s the next batch of Avengers sketch cards I did for Upper Deck. I’m still pretty psyched that these are getting released in the trading cards for the Avengers movie, I’m not gonna lie to you guys.

Enjoy!

Avengers Sketch Cards!

So, I got the email today saying that all my Avengers sketch cards had been approved by Marvel (ALL of ‘em, baby!), so I’m allowed to post them.
Now, I’m not going to post all of them in one shot. That would be silly. And murder on the load time for this page. So, I’ll just shoot a few into this post, and then post a few more on another day, and so on. I had a blast doing these, and still have another line of Marvel cards to get cracking on!

I also have six “Artist Proof Cards”, which are sketch cards I get to keep and sell myself. Two of which are the featured image in this post. If you’re interested, shoot me a message otherwise they’ll probably get put up in my Ebay shop and I’ll post the links.

Cave Dwelling

Hey gang. Remember when I used to do things like update my comics? Me neither.

Pretty much came back from Christmas and hit the ground running. The wedding’s only a few months away now, so there’s a giant pile of “HOLY SHIT, WE NEED TO GET THIS DONE!” to do. Not to mention the cards I have to do for The Avengers movie (which got off to a late start due to a printing delay, so it’s crunch time on that) and Marvel Beginnings. The picture above is pretty much where I spend most of my time these days: chained to the table in my office/cave, spending way too long on each card because I’m making myself crazy (and because I would like to keep getting work doing this) and barely keeping ahead of deadlines for contract work. Sorry for the blurry bits, but I’m not allowed to show any of the cards I’ve done until they’re approved by Marvel…so I just played it safe and assumed that went for the printed sides of them as well.

This whole, “Oh, right. Paid work is necessary to keep the lights on and the beer cold” thing has left me almost no time for my webcomics. I’ll be honest guys, updates on my end are going to be pretty sporadic for a while. It’ll easily be February or March before I’m able to update The Path or Bastard Who any more than once a week.

BUT, there are still plenty of comics to read at Old Dying Kitty! William Feist and Phineus: Magician for Hire are still updating on their regular schedules, so get to readin’! Plus a NEW title, “Cutters Field” by Chris Waterman, will be joining the ODK family VERY soon! Keep an eye out!

‘Till February, gang!
